Camel Down [WK]
Our Woolyarns sourcing team have secured long-term supply of 17 micron Inner Mongolian and Chinese camel down fibre. Camel fibre is harvested by hand from the camels during moulting season and then dehaired leaving a luxurious downy undercoat. This downy undercoat fibre is very fine and similar to cashmere and Brushtail Possum down. Camel fibre is hollow which brings excellent insulating properties.
Fine ZQ Merino [WO]
Woolyarns uses Fine 15.5 micron ZQ merino from The New Zealand Merino Company, known for its fully traceable supply chain and commitment to the highest standards in animal welfare, environmental conservation, and social sustainability. This premium natural component is an exceptional addition to any blend, providing superior quality and performance.
Brushtail Possum Down [AF]
Our Brushtail Possum fibre is sourced from carefully selected regions throughout New Zealand only at certain times during the year. We use a specialised dehairing technique to refine the fibre, resulting in ultra-lightweight, downy fibres that average 16.5 microns in thickness. This exceptional fibre adds a new level of softness and uniqueness to every blend we create.
